SUMMARY

The Estate Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of two ocean front residential properties located in Carlsbad, California.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. 


The candidate must be organized and attentive to detail, demonstrating an elevated level of maturity, self-confidence, exceptional intuition and judgment with the ability to reflect the family’s values in every interaction.


The Estate Manager will be responsible for a total of two (2) properties located within 5 minutes from each other. The main residence will start a remodel project in August 2024 which takes nine (9) months. During the time the secondary residence will be the main family home.


The family does live out of state and visits the properties throughout the year. During the family visits the Estate Manager is expected to attend to the family needs as well as the property.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works on-site at the main property. Some work from home options available.


RESONSIBILITIES

  • The Estate Manager will be responsible for the management, maintenance, current remodel, upkeep, and repair of the properties. 

  • Source, hire, schedule and manage household employees and contractors to ensure household needs are met.

  • Select contractors for the performance maintenance, and repair work.

  • Work alongside current design and construction team to ensure a successful remodel that is held up to the owner’s expectations and budget.

  • Operate, maintain, and implement security measures, devices, and plans.

  • Manage an operating budget, including reviewing and approving all invoices as well as regular reporting.

  • Develop an overall plan for the maintenance of all buildings, structures, landscaping and grounds and the schedule for implementing that plan.

  • Maintain owner’s vehicles and all other additional belongings on the property.

  • Make purchases and run errands.

  • Airport transportation.

  • Maintain records of property-related documentation, including maintenance logs and vendor contracts.

  • This is a hands-on position. The Estate Manager is expected to lead by example and pitch in wherever needed.



REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Experience and substantial knowledge of property systems.

  • 7+ years’ experience in a supervisory and hands-on position at a private estate.

  • Seeking longevity.

  • Non-smoking/vaping.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to property management.

  • May require occasional lifting and carrying of items.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Email and Calendars.

  • Pre-employment background and drug test.

  • Superb command of the English language, both written and oral, is required. Speaking Spanish is a plus.

  • Outstanding references from current and previous professional positions. References will be verified.
