SUMMARY
High-profile family in La Jolla, CA. is looking for flexible, high-energy and motivated House Manager / Family Assistant. The position requires that the candidate is available to travel in the US and internationally, as well as spend up to three months in the Summer in Montreal. The ideal candidates can work well in a small team is a self-starter and has a hands-on mentality.
REQUIREMENT
The principal requires the candidate to live close enough to the family's residence in La Jolla to be able to commute.
Weekly Schedule in La Jolla, CA. (this is subject to change depending on needs of the family)
Sunday 11am – 9pm
Monday 10am – 9pm
Tuesday 3pm – 9pm
Wednesday 10am – 9pm
Thursday 3pm – 9pm
Friday/Saturday OFF (unless needed for babysitting, family birthday)
Holidays typically required to work
New Years Eve, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day
Qualifications
The family travels between their homes in La Jolla and Montreal. During their time in La Jolla, the position is Live-out, when the family travels accommodation is provided.
Experienced in managing a busy, active household and staff.
Highly organized, intelligent, and can multi-task, wearing many different hats, plus be well versed at training and managing a team.
Superior communication skills, confidentiality and discretion, organizational skills and eye for detail.
Possess emotional and intellectual stability with a commitment to long-term employment with a business-like mentality, and extraordinary dedication to the family.
Possess at least five years relative work experience in a private home.
Higher education preferred.
The nature of such close personal assistance requires the utmost in flexibility of schedule and duty assignment.
Home cleaning duties
Laundering and putting away clothing; changing linens and towels.
Clean Kitchen after meals.
Refresh principals’ bathrooms and closets periodically throughout the day.
More cleaning duties on housekeeper’s day off.
Kitchen and Food Duties
Set table for meals; clear table after meals and wash dishes after meals.
Make green juice, celery juice, tea and smoothie and serve to principle when the chef is not at the residence.
Heat, plate and serve food when the chef is not at the residence.
Occasionally cooking light meals for the family.
House Manager Duties
Light computer/paperwork.
Scheduling home maintenance and repair work, and supervising the project to completion.
Home maintenance includes: window washer, gardener, exterior cleaning
Enforce hygiene protocol for staff and visitors.
Keep inventory of household supplies and principle’s personal products; order supplies and products.
Oversee housekeeping staff and manage schedules for deep cleaning projects.
Manage and coordinate staff schedules for coverage at the residence.
Liaison with household staff in Montreal so the residence is prepared when family arrives there.
Liaison between principles and other staff, including the chef.
Place online orders at request of principle; manage online returns as necessary.
Receive and unpack packages that are delivered; track what has been received and what needs to be returned.
Work with chef and staff to support entertaining and events.
Pack and prepare for family’s travel.
Welcome guests to the residence and attend to their needs.
Principle Specific Duties
Order and prepare supplements; serve to principle.
Pack for the principle.
Prepare principles’ cars before they leave the house; tidy and sanitize cars upon their return.
Prepare “to-go” items for principle including: supplements, snacks, lunch
Keep principle’s glasses and sunglasses clean at all times.
Organize principle’s closet and bathroom: clothes, shoes, toiletries, beauty products, medicines.
Anticipate principle’s need.
Travel (international and domestic) is a requirement.

One week in October: Montreal, Canada
Mid-Dec to early-January: Montreal, Canada
All weekends from early-Jan through end of March: Deer Valley, Utah
