Location: Rancho Santa Fe – 8,000 sq ft. home.

Salary: D.O.E.

Employment: W2

Hours: 9 am – 4 pm

Type: 4 days, 7 hours per day (5 days per week after renovation complete)

Accommodation: Live-out

Benefits: Health insurance, Vacation after 1 year of employment, Government Holidays, Sick Pay

Days: 4 days per week, plus 1 day per month at second residence in La Jolla

SUMMARY:

Lovely family in Rancho Santa Fe is looking for an experienced housekeeper for household cleaning duties and 1-2 days a month cleaning and organizing the family’s second home in La Jolla (condo). The ideal candidate has a great eye for detail, is discreet, has worked in high-end homes before and is pet (dog & cat) friendly.


Although the position starts out as part-time, it will turn into a 5 day a week role once renovation is complete. The family is looking for a candidate who can be flexible when needed, e.g. working extra hours as needed, during dinner parties, some holidays and special events


PRIMARY DUTIES & EXPERIENCE

  • Discreet

  • Organized

  • Experience in cleaning luxury home; European-style cleaning

  • Experience in the care of fine furnishings, antiques, handmade rugs

  • General housekeeping

  • Understands clearly which cleaning products work and which ones are not appropriate

  • Actively observes and reports anything requiring immediate attention

  • Ensure all housekeeping storage areas are clean and organized and shelves are clearly labelled

  • Ensure all cleaning equipment & housekeeping tools are maintained and in good working order

  • Maintain cleaning supply inventory

  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, squat, crouch, bend

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Maintain a professional appearance.


DAILY TASKS & GENERAL DUTIES

  • Home is currently undergoing renovation - keep the areas not under renovation dust-free, as much as possible

  • Make beds daily

  • Wash and dry dirty dishes, empty dishwasher and put all away in accurate locations

  • Laundry and ironing - perform and manage laundry needs

  • Care for aging cat

  • Gather, empty and clean trash bins daily

  • Clean furniture and fixtures as directed while using only approved products

  • Wash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep assigned areas

  • Polish fittings and fixtures, clean mirrors

  • Assist with food preparation if needed - wash and chop vegetables, fruits

  • Clean outdoor furniture


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience working in a high-level private home

  • Must be Fluent in English with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Must agree to and pass a thorough background and reference check

  • Must be legally able to work in the United States

  • Very strict rule - no working while sick from any illness

  • Vaccines not required
