SUMMARY

A private Palm Beach Gardens-based family of eight is seeking a creative and positive temporary private chef to manage all daily culinary needs in a dynamic household environment. This is a temporary full-time position, starting November 19th, 2024 till December 19th, 2024 (with potential to extend to January 1st, 2025) from Monday to Friday, roughly 10:00am to 8:00pm.


The ideal candidate must have extensive experience working in a busy household with nannies and children under five years old as well as older teenagers. The chef will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and pre-packaging meals for the family, including school lunches for the children and meals for the nanny.


In addition, the chef will coordinate with household staff to ensure seamless mealtime operations. Responsibilities also include managing two kitchens, overseeing kitchen inventory and organization, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and kitchen maintenance. The chef will maintain a warm and welcoming home environment always working with positivity and remaining calm under pressure.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all elements of hospitality, food and beverage service within the residence daily

  • Successfully communicate with household staff to coordinate mealtimes so meals run smoothly and are executed on time

  • Manage all food-related vendor and contractor relationships

  • Uphold the highest sanitary and cleanliness standards for the kitchen

  • Create meals according to the family’s preferences and adapt to the family’ preferences as they change

  • Prepare a variety of food to help develop the children’s palate

  • Source the freshest ingredients

  • Handle all aspects of grocery shopping, kitchen supply procurement, and inventory management for their three kitchens

  • Prepare and package breakfast for the kids and parents.

  • Meal prep grab and go lunches for the Mr. and Mrs. upon request

  • Package lunch boxes for school aged children

  • Prepare meals for the nanny

  • Serve children dinners apart from the principals (i.e., children’s dinner time)

  • Serve separate family style dinners for the principals after the small children’s dinner

  • Meal prep and packaged meals for Saturdays and Sundays

  • Additional chef responsibilities as needed and requested

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Private Chef or similar role.

  • Strong command of the English language; superb communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent references from current and/or previous employers

  • Minimum 3 + years related experience working as a private chef for a private family

  • Comfortable working in a home environment with children and experience preparing meals and snacks for children of all ages

  • Comfortable working in an active family kitchen

  • Must be able to fully manage kitchen cleaning, stocking, serving, maintenance, etc.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Professional in both mindset and manor; use of utmost discretion at all times

  • Works with positivity and is calm under pressure; always maintaining a warm and welcoming home environment.

  • Experience preparing a variety of cuisines including Swedish, Asian and Mediterranean

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record

  • Legally able to work in the United States
